McKissock Design System
Colibri Group helps millions of professionals advance their careers through online learning. I was brought on to build a style guide establishing consistent visuals and ADA-compliant interfaces.

McKissock Learning, part of Colibri Group's SaaS platform, serves hundreds of thousands of licensed professionals — appraisers, real estate agents, engineers, home inspectors, land surveyors — across continuing education and licensing courses. Years of teams shipping independently had left the interface visually inconsistent, with no shared reference for type, color, or contrast. I was brought on to build the style guide that would fix that and bring the platform up to ADA accessibility standards.
The style guide
A single reference for the two decisions every team kept making differently: what type to set, and which color to reach for.
Typography
Two typefaces — Exuberance for headings, Avenir for body copy — mapped across five heading levels, each with an exact size and line-height, so a heading looks the same whether it was built by the appraisal team or the real estate team.
Color
Ten brand colors, each broken into tinted shades from 10% to full strength with documented hex values — giving designers a fixed palette to pull from instead of picking a new shade by eye every time, and a basis for meeting contrast requirements.
